Gerlach is the highest peak of the entire Carpathian chain. Gerlach is 2,665 m., and the entrance to its summit is only accessible under the guidance of a guide, for people who are unfamiliar with climbing the mountains. The next peak in terms of height is Lomnica reaching 2,634 m.
