... daughter. Most trips to the island are day tour ones. It leaves Manila Bay early morning and arrives around an hour and forty minutes later on the island. It was our very first island trip. Corregidor was the last fort that surrendered to Japanese occupation in 1942. WWII veterans and enthusiasts often visited the island. We wanted to know more about history, so we booked this tour. Instead of the usual day tour, we opted for an overnight stay at the Corregidor Inn.
This trip was fascinating as I got to climb a lighthouse for the first time. Yey! Then, we also booked additional activities like the night tunnel tour and sunset viewing. We also booked for the sunrise viewing the day after and got to experience exploring Japanese tunnels which were really creepy.
Corregidor island has a lovely beach, but it was a bit too rocky on the South Dock. We just enjoyed the view and took lots of photos. We joined the boat ride home after lunch the following day. What an experience indeed!
I have been reminiscing the good ole days as we're under enhanced community quarantine at the present moment. These travel photos truly represent better days.
