En mi jardín tuve una cita única e inusual, que solo duró unas horas y empezó justo a las 12:00am. La protagonista fue una hermosa planta llamada “Dama De Una Noche” la cual mostró todo su esplendor y no dudé ni un minuto en dejarlo plasmado a través de mi cámara.
In my garden I had a unique and unusual date, which only lasted a few hours and started right at 12:00 am. The protagonist was a beautiful plant called "Dama De Una Noche" which showed all its splendor and I did not hesitate for a minute to leave it captured through my camera.
Cuenta mi abuela que esta planta esconde una hermosa pero triste leyenda, donde un amor entre un gladiador y una doncella no fue aceptado por el padre de ella y terminó en la muerte de ambos, la planta creció justo en el sitio donde reposaban los restos de aquella doncella, floreciendo justo a medianoche e irradiando una aroma única.
My grandmother says that this plant hides a beautiful but sad legend, where a love between a gladiator and a maiden was not accepted by her father and ended in the death of both, the plant grew right in the place where the remains rested of that maiden, blooming right at midnight and radiating a unique scent.
En la tarde de ese día estuve muy pendiente del acontecimiento, el primer indicio fue la apariencia de la flor, parecía que ya estaba a punto de abrir.
In the afternoon of that day I was very aware of the event, the first indication was the appearance of the flower, it seemed that it was about to open.
A partir aproximadamente de las 11:00pm el capullo empezó a abrir los pétalos hasta llegar a ser una flor en su máximo esplendor, con un aroma increíble, nada que envidiarle a los mejores perfumes de marca. Esta planta tiene una característica particular: solo florece una vez por unas horas, ya en la mañana la flor se marchita.
Starting at approximately 11:00 pm, the bud began to open the petals until it became a flower in its maximum splendor, with an incredible aroma, nothing to envy to the best brand perfumes. This plant has a particular characteristic: it only blooms once for a few hours, already in the morning the flower withers.
Definitivamente la naturaleza esconde tantos misterios que nunca dejan de maravillarnos.
Definitely nature hides so many mysteries that they never cease to amaze us.
La mañana siguiente ya la flor había cerrado, toca esperar otra oportunidad para volver a apreciar este espectáculo natural.
The next morning the flower had already closed, we have to wait for another opportunity to re-appreciate this natural spectacle.
