At first glance it looked like a bee, and it was perched on a flower collecting nectar and pollen, so at first I thought it was really a honey bee.
Su apariencia morfológica es similar a la de una abeja, tal vez es una especie de mimetismo, adaptación fenomenológica o sistema de defensa para alejar a los posibles depredadores que puedan acecharla.
Its morphological appearance is similar to that of a bee, perhaps it is a kind of mimicry, phenomenological adaptation or defense system to ward off potential predators that may stalk it.
A pesar de su apariencia física, en realidad se trata de una mosca conocida comúnmente con el nombre de Mosca "abeja" (Beeflie) y se descarta que sea una abeja, ya que este es un insecto volador que posee un solo par de alas (díptera) y por supuesto no tiene aguijón.
Despite its physical appearance, it is actually a fly commonly known as a bee fly (Beeflies) and it is not a bee, since it is a flying insect with only one pair of wings (diptera) and of course it has no sting.
Son variadas las modificaciones en la estructura corporal de estos artrópodos de la Familia Bombyliidaey al menos se conocen 16 Subfamilias de este tipo de insecto. Se han estudiado en diversas partes del planeta, pero los continentes de Europa y América lideran los mayores casos de observación de especímenes de los 238 géneros de Moscas Abeja.
The modifications in the body structure of these arthropods of the Family Bombyliidae are varied and at least 16 Subfamilies of this type of insect are known. They have been studied in various parts of the planet, but the continents of Europe and America lead the largest cases of observation of specimens of the 238 genera of Bee Flies.
