العلم هو النور الذي ينير حياة الإنسان ويوجهه الوجهة الصحيحة، وهو سبيل الإنسان للوصول للخير والمجد والعلو، وللعلم أهمية كبيرة فقد وصانا به الله سبحانه وتعالى ورسوله الكريم، ووردت العديد من الأدلة الشرعية التي توصي بالعلم، وتتجلى في قوله تعالى:" وقل ربي زدني علماً"، وتظهر أهمية العلم في طلب الرسول صلى الله عليه وسلم من قريش تعليم عشرة من المسلمين القراءة والكتابة مقابل الإفراج عن الأسرى المحتجزين لدى المسلمين، وهذا الموقف يدل على أهمية العلم عن غيره من الأمور كالمال، فبالعلم تستطيع أي أمة من أن تواجه التحديات والصعوبات التي تمر بها، من خلال تحقيق التقدم والازدهار في المجالات المختلفة.
