
This bridge addition exercise was done as a part of my thesis in architecture. The Prince of Wales Bridge is an abandoned railway bridge in Ottawa, and my thesis proposes to rehabilitate it for commuter rail traffic, as well as to add a pedestrian and bike lane. This version of the design has the new bridge cantilevering off of the reinforced trusses, originialy built in the 1880s.

This model was constructed at a 1:100 scale. It was assembled from laser-cut pieces 3 mm plywood.

Hi, this would be perfect for the Rhine-bridges in Cologne! They are too narrow for pedestrians, skaters and bikers. And very dangerous for nightphotographers ;-)

Thanks @photowanze. That does look dangerously narrow. It's interesting to see real-world projects similar to mine, and the challenges faced.
