Yeah, we have those too; "British" buildings. As I read your post, I recalled that I have a picture of one of those from Lagos, but now I can't find it. They pretty much look the same as in the photo of the 2nd building.
I wish we Nigerians would start renaming our buildings, monuments, etc. from English names to our own native names really. It would show, at least, that we are ready to be fully independent. Unfortunately, we're still under the chokehold of westerners...

That's bad, here in India we are on a wave to change all the names and give it an Indian identity. So what if they were built in the British time, after all the resources were all from within the country.
Exactly! I totally agree. I hope one day, the government in charge, when we get one that actually cares about what's important, sees things from your perspective. Right now, they still dance to the tune of the West and the UK.
