RE: Solar eclipse of August 12, 2026

The next year eclipse will be even more interesting, because some people call it "Eclipse of the Century". Path of totality will go over "Pillars of Hercules" (Strait of Gibraltar), and over "Luxor" (City of Sun) in Egypt. The duration of totality will peak at 6 minutes and 23 seconds near Luxor, the site of ancient Thebes, the pharaohs’ capital, in Egypt. That will make it the longest total solar eclipse visible from land since 1991 and the longest until 2114.
