This Blog will give you an idea how much you will spend in Armenia for a 4 days and 3 nights tour.
Me and my wife have finally agreed for a tour after a long years of planning and our first destination was in Armenia. If you love the cold weather and wishes to experience the snow, the best time to visit is December until February. For us we visited Armenia around last week of March, by this time you can still feel the cold weather but you can see some snow mostly in the mountain area only.
A short history of the land: Armenia is a nation, and former Soviet republic, in the mountainous Caucasus region between Asia and Europe among the earliest Christian civilizations.
Here are the breakdown of our Armenia trip:
Travel Package – 1,450 AED which includes Airfare, Hostel stay with breakfast (4 days and 3 nights), airport pickup until the Hostel. I will give the travel agency and hostel links below the page. We availed the package through Fast Track Agency and their office is located here in Abu Dhabi. They will give you good packages and they are responding fast if you have any questions. We stayed in Classy and Cozy Hostel the place was nice and with a very accommodating staff managed by a Filipina. This is a nice place for a Filipino to stay and with a very kind tour guide Mr. Bob a local Armenian. (He can speak Bisaya and Tagalog as well). Note: We traveled on a peak season but during normal season, you can avail packages as cheaper as 1,000 AED. Please make sure if you are travelling as a couple, select the private room in the Hostel if you don’t like the sharing rooms.
Tour Package – Day 1 tour cost us 7,000 Armenian Dram or 54 AED which includes the tour guide in van with wifi, visit to Garni Temple, Gigarc Monastery, Tsaghkadzor cable car, Charents Arc and Sevan Lake.
Note: For private tour it will cost around 230 AED but if it’s group tour it will cost only 54 AED per person. I recommend to go for group tour less expensive and you will meet new friends as well.
Food for Day 1 cost us around 22,000 Armenian Dram or 168 AED good for 7 person. So we pay only around 2,000 Armenian Dram or 15 AED per person. Also rice is available upon your request. We ate at the restaurant near the Sevan Lake which fish is fresh and delicious. Breakfast is free in the hostel and in a day you will travel the most so likely you will eat only two times a day. Wine is very cheap, locally made it will cost around 8 to 15 AED per bottle.
Day 2 – cost us around 11,000 Armenian Dram or 84 AED per person for the tour which includes the tour guide in a van with wifi, visited Khor Virap Monastery, Areni Winery, Noravank Monastery and amazing Jermuk Falls.
Food for Day 2 cost us around 18,000 Armenian Dram or 137 AED served good for 7 people. Per person cost us almost 3000 Dram or 22 AED. We ordered grilled pork and it is really tasty and delicious. Pork is a must try in Armenia!
Day 3 – cost us 3000 per person for our last day. Rushed out for our 12: 30 pm flight we checkout in the Hostel to avail a City Tour in the morning. We visited Victory Park, Statue of Mother Armenia, Republic square, Genocide Museum and souvenir shops. You can buy lot’s of souvenir items which cost from 300 Dram to 2000 Dram or 2 AED to 20 AED very cheap and nice enough to give to your love ones.
We had a very exciting and mesmerizing experience. Armenia is nifty place and I recommend it for everyone to visit. People are very friendly, hospitable and hard working. They do not take advantage of others even if you are a tourist as I have experienced. They are living in a very simple life and earning money in the right way.
