Yeah Hive is not well known yet, but they have a bunch of support from the Dev community (check out hive.io). It's a 1:1 fork away from steem chain which I guess got taken over by that tron guy. Hive is a fast and free transparency coin that some people don't like, but transparency can be a good thing sometimes too. For example, publicly proving who is getting the rewards and the tips on the videos, just check hiveblocks.com and you can see that maxigan, corbettreport, etc are all receiving the monetary rewards for their work. This way nobody can accuse anyone of taking from them. The cool thing here is that your comments can get upvote rewards and tips as well. :)
