My Gaze External

in #art10 years ago

One of my favorite personal poems. Enjoy the ride!

I'm laying down
when eye lids drop,
and land me in a wondered stop.

A lonely orb
my eyes now touch.
Quite naturally I question much.

And so I zoom
to closely gaze
into this orb. My present craze
will soon absorb all questioned rays.

I quickly slip
inward to find
a lonely world of specs that blind.

These specs do grow
as I fly far,
and closer now, I spy a star!

Soon endless gold
stars find my eyes,
and squinting, how my vision lies,
though hints allow a blurred surprise.

In spirit's rush
exists a peace
that vacuum's silence cannot cease.

A ball of blue,
a worldly place,
familiars mind cannot erase.

Now through the clouds
my present state
is falling to a quickened fate,
and hoping few more seconds wait.

I land so light
and look to see
there's brick red blood surrounding me!

I recall that
when eye lids dropped,
my body flew threw air, then stopped.

I see it clear!
So I have bled!
I jumped from plane and hit my head,
I've cracked my skull, my body's dead,
and to this ghostly world I've fled.

I love it :)

Poetry is much appreciated as long as it is original.

Thank you :). It is. I posted this and others on allpoetry.com awhile back.
