The deadly snake resided at the bank of the ovia river 300years ago has always being a fearful and deadly snake with a very rough skin ...It scared villagers from the river,the news of missing persons have all pointed at the unfortunate snake.
Known for his deadly jaws ..dead body of human parts to the bones were found on d river banks ..many believed it was d snake ..Until the then oba of benin Oba Ewuare1 had to take action..by sending well talented hunters to track down the monster .it took them about 95 days until a night came when one of hunters thought of a good plan.
He poisoned a dead goat or something that looked like a four legged animal...while waiting at the side of the river..somewhere behind a tree, the snake never came...
they went home hopeless ...three days later ,they returned but never found the poisoned carcass neither did they find the monster..Ever since then ,there was no record of any killings
The huge monster was never seen again....though it was said to have been seen dead in another village but it was not recorded...
