Hello my dear friends! Today I want to share with you the material that I use. Pencils KOH-I-NOOR.
Of all the professional materials, graphite pencils have appeared first. They became my mother's gift for the New Year.
As is the case with self-taught artists, the need for materials arises by itself. Nobody forces you to buy them (as in an art school), at one point you just understand that you can not draw with pencils for 20 rubles, that this is not enough for you. Cheap pencils, as a rule, do not perform the functions necessary for good graphic work.
Quality is felt right away. This is evident from the way the pencil lies on the paper, how it rends, how it is sharpened, what the shade is. Yes for everything! If you are an artist, you will understand me.
Of course, for beginners, there is no sense in buying good art materials (as it was in my art studio, everything was required at once). You first need to understand whether or not you really want to paint and with this material.
At one time I understood this here on these pencils! Therefore for me they have their own history and special significance.
Well, the quality of KOH-I-NOOR, as always, exceeds the expectation. If such a company (or Faber-Castell) is in your city, then be sure to take it!
The advantages of such pencils in addition to quality (and indeed graphite pencils in general):
Large selection from hard to soft
Never need to think how to color pick up in your picture
Economically (these pencils are not very expensive)
They are easy to find (do not, for example, as with watercolor pencils to run and look for a color that is over)
The most important thing is to learn the basics of drawing
Suitable for both sketches and full-scale works
Under these pencils you can take almost any paper
Well and minuses:
You will not always find a fixer (I have not seen one)
Pencils are easily triturated - the work will not be stored long in the original form
Soft pencils are very brittle! once dropped - say goodbye to a good pencil
Personally, minus for me: quickly bored - boring, not enough color and all that.
Из всех профессиональных материалов графитовые карандаши у меня появились первыми. Они стали маминым подарком на Новый год.
Как бывает у художников-самоучек, потребность в материалах возникает сама собой. Тебе никто не заставляет их покупать (как в художественной школе), в один прекрасный момент ты просто понимаешь, что не можешь рисовать карандашами за 20 рублей, что этого для тебя уже мало. Дешёвые карандаши, как правило, не выполняют нужных для хороших графических работ функций.
Качество чувствуется сразу. Это видно по тому, как карандаш ложится на бумагу, как растерается, как точится, каков оттенок. Да по всему! Если вы художник, вы меня точно поймете.
Конечно, для начинающих художников нет смысла покупать хорошие художественные материалы (как это было у меня в изостудии, требовалось все и сразу). Вы сначала должны понять действительно ли вы хотите рисовать и именно этим ли материалом.
В свое время это я поняла вот по этим вот карандашикам! Поэтому для меня они имеет свою историю и особое значение.
Что ж, по качеству KOH-I-NOOR, как и всегда превосходит ожидание. Если такая фирма (или же Faber-Castell) есть в вашем городе, то непременно берите!
Плюсы таких карандашей помимо качества (да и вообще графитовых карандашей в целом) :
Большой выбор от твердого до мягкого
Никогда не надо думать как цвет подобрать в вашей картине
Экономично (эти карандаши не очень дорогие)
Их легко найти (не надо, например, как с акварельными карандашами бегать и искать цвет, который закончился)
Самое то, чтобы научиться азам рисования
Подходят и для набросков, и для полноценных работ
Под эти карандаши можно взять практически любую бумагу
Ну и минусы:
Не всегда найдёшь закрепитель (я ни одного не встречала)
Карандаши легко растираются - работа нн будет хранится долго в изначальном виде
Мягкие карандаши очень ломкие! один раз уронил - прощайся с хорошим карандашом
Лично минус для меня: быстро надоедают - скучно, не хватает цвета и все подобное.
They are quite common here (Czech Republic), since they are made here.
It is pretty old brand, I remember them since being 3 year old or so :)
It is named after one of most famous diamond

Dody Bireuen yes!but the price they have is not standard! :) so not everyone can afford them, osebenno when not decided for themselves what kind of material teebe needed!

То ли мне так "везло", то ли я не знаю, как так сошлись звезды, но я кохиноровские материалы люто ненавижу))) Ни разу нормального карандаша не попалось, плюс двересина жесткая, пока ножиком преватишь его в "скрюченный палец ведьмы" - свои пальцы переломаешь. Но это мое мнение)) Да и у меня ни разу не было набора - моет там они человеческого качества

Koh-I-Noor is a Czech product and is widely available in Russia (and Europe). We don't have it here and have to buy it via China and that's expensive. I use Faber Castell 9000 graphite pencils for sketching and of course Staedler Mars Lumograph. I totally agree with you, student grade pencils do not give good results as compared to artist grade pencils.
