This commision was something very special. Task was to cover the pool pump in a decorative way. The owner himself built the pretty roof and because it reminds of a dog house, he had asked for a dog.
He gave me a ready-made pressboard. I've never worked on this material before, so it was exciting for me to draw on it. The dog should be a large breed, lying and looking out of the house with a dark background.
Sketch and acrylic paint tested for the background.
I decided then for pastel pencils to best represent the fur of the dog.
I enhanced the shine of the coat with white ink and brought in more structure.

The pool owner is happy and told me enthusiastically how it looks like the dog is always looking after him. YES!
