Check Out Some Rad Boise Street Art

in #art7 years ago

When you think about the city of Boise, chances are you don't have images of graffiti and urban art in your mind. However, you would be quite surprised to find out that our city has a thriving artist community and values the contribution of local artists. All around the city there are murals done by people that live right here in Boise.

The Art of Freak Alley

One location in Boise that is dedicated to Street artwork is Freak Alley. It started as a small endeavor by local artist and owner Colby Akers in 2002 and is promoted as being the largest outdoor gallery in the northwest.

The outdoor gallery hosts events and is a popular attraction due to not only the art but the local flavor. They switch up the murals at least once a year and when this is done you were able to go down and watch them being painted and see the entire process.

Take a look at these shots that I have got over the years. They are some of my favorites that have been put up in the alley.

If you happen to make it to Boise or the surrounding area, make sure to check out Freak Alley and other local galleries.

Also check out my page often. AGM is proud to be a local and we are proud of our little City of Trees. We will be updating with interviews of local artists and viewing opportunities!

Make sure to let us know if you're in town or passing through as well!
