JITTERBUG BUG
Marvin was the Jitterbug king,
Adroit with his steps, and here’s the thing,
He could Jitterbug all through the day,
And never totter, yes, never sway!
Narelle was, conversely, the Jitterbug Queen,
No flies on her, but you could see where they’d been.
A person addicted to hot music dancing.
Fast foot action, indeed, borderline prancing.
Together they’d Jitterbug all the way to town.
Drawing admiring glances, acting the clown,
So they could keep step, and Jitterbug faster.
Marvin always carried a stereophonic Ghetto Blaster!
He said to Narelle, “Practice we must,”
“To enter the competition, to win or bust!”
Marvin knew Narelle wanted to be crowned “The Dancing Queen”.
But, so too for Marvin accolades were to be seen.
As a highly desirable achievement to be sure.
One that drew him strongly, with much allure.
“We both seek fame and fortune from our Jitterbugging,”
“Which is why, this Ghetto Blaster, I’m always lugging.”
“We want to get an Oscar, or an Emmy, at least.”
“For a Jitterbugger, the whole world is a veritable feast.”
Came Awards Night, they were both in a sweat.
“We Jitterbugged nonstop, all the way from Tibet!”
“It was only in India, towards the north,”
“That Monsoon weather, didn’t allow us to sally forth.”
“We Jitterbugged through Europe’s common borders,”
“Arriving in Britain, as per Doctor’s orders.”
