SEEMS GOOD
Our Hero, a Chef, of considerable renown,
Pierre Legrator, famous all over town.
Pierre went to the Green Grocer to buy,
Fresh fruit and veggies fit to make him sigh!
No, the Grocer was not any shade of Green,
In fact, he was scrupulously busy and clean.
He’d gloss polish apples with his pocket handkerchief.
Checking each for worm holes atop and underneath.
Pierre had his eye out for Melon and Cauli.
To prepare a souffle, an epicurean folly!
Indeed, his visage had a melancholy bent,
He was, by nature, a most serious gent.
Melon-Cauli souffle’, an epicurean delight!
The souffle rising proudly, without fear or fright.
Pierre would proudly exhibit his finished souffle’ dish,
Making other Chefs jealous, to make the same they would wish!
That Green Grocer extracted his kerchief, and after blowing his nose,
Polished each apple until it glowed like a rose.
“Presentation is what it is all really about,”
“Customers seeing shiny fruit give an appreciative shout!”
The melon had a rougher skin, it must be said,
But it was definitely bald, like the Green Grocer’s head.
He’d store his melons in a container with formaldehyde,
To make them last longer, exact recipe he’d hide.
“There are so many tricks of the trade,”
The font of such knowledge was of what his business was made!
