Top of swimsuit. 👙

in #art6 years ago (edited)

Hello friends, knitting in crochet is an activity that comes from past generations. Who does not remember a grandmother knitting in her rocking chair?

It is an image that comes to my mind and represents patience, tenderness, tranquility, or relaxation therapy.

In the times of the colony, white women, from wealthy families, began to embroider or weave in the afternoons.

The grandmothers of before had bed covers, woven tablecloths, curtains, they also had beautiful embroidered cushions; and those things are almost not seen, and to finish off the man I create embroidery machines that do all the work.

That's why crafts are beautiful, and we manual workers have to give our creations enough value, because they are unique.

But moving on to the topic that concerns us today, let's start with a brief tutorial on how this crop top or swimsuit was made.

The materials that we will use are:

• Wicks
• Crochet needle # 2.50mm
• Embroidery ribbons # 7
• Embroidery ribbons # 5
• Embroidery needle # 18
• Scissors
• Needle and threads

Process:

Step 1

The first thing we are going to do is 14 chains + 3, which equals a high point. This measure is for a support cup size 34, if you want it bigger you add 2 more chains for a total of 16 + 3. Always the increase must be in even number.

Step 2

We take the thread and introduce the needle in the fifth chain and make our second high point, and so we continue the round making a high point at each base point.

Step 3

When we get to the last chain, we put in that same place two high points, we make a chain and again two high points in the same base point, so we form a fan. Then we continue to knit normal high points at each base point.

As you can see in the picture we finished our first round. Followed by this we raise 3 chains and start our second round of high points.

Step 4

When we get to the chain that we made in the previous round, we get into that hole with two high points a chain and two high points in that same point and so we do the same process for each loop we are going to weave. In this case we did 9 laps.

This same process can be elaborated, to make cups for brassieres, swimsuits, crop tops, dresses and many other things. They can enlarge and decrease as I taught them in step 2.

To end

In the bottom of the cup we traverse in a zigzag way a strip of five feet long, made with 250 chains and low points.

For this tutorial I made a step by step video of the decoration around the cup, of how the strip is made to hold the neck. So pay close attention.

Wow, this is so cool! I have seen a few crocheted bathing suits in the past, and I always wonder, how does this hold up if you swim? Or is it for sunbathing only?
Either way, its beautiful!

With crocheted things you can swim because it's not as elastic as knitted fabric.

Great to know, thanks for answering! ♥

What a beautiful top - especially the embroidery! The effort and care you put in is clearly visible.
