Trying to select the best colors for this is tough, so we started matching up color options and choosing the best until we were left with only a few to show the client.

what's the project for? Without knowing, I'll take #2 (i like that shade of bluey-purple with the goldy-yellow) and #4 (just a nice combo with soft yet cool colors that are pleasing)
