When someone you care about passes away you go through some emotions. You should be surprised how many people don't really cry and it's not because they are made of stone or don't care, it's just the opposite. You have to understand that as humans in a very restricted society you are taught to control your emotions and we learn to use that control as a wall from emotional distress that we can't yet handle. It's not that you are weak or a bad person but it's that you are a real true person who values the connection to other people, family, friends and because it's so real it hurts more to us. This isn't to say that people who cry at the passing of a loved one are bad but they had a different kind of connection and or they learn how to deal with this level of distress and knows to head it straight on.
No one knows your connection to another person because it's unique, no one else EVER will have that same kind of connection that you hold dear and that is something you can't get back copy or duplicate. That is what love is on a basic scale. It's unique, a source of positive energy from just connecting with them, where else do you get positive energy from? So now you understand that love is the only real true source of positive energy, you can understand that once you love someone you can never undo or take back that connection, you can make new connections with that person as things change in this chaotic space but for that moment when it was positive between each other it will be forever.
When you give your self to someone and marry them, you say the words I love you and mean it from that point you can not "unlove" that person. Now if some bad events happen, maybe your wife or husband made a mistake and put negative energy into that relationship, something like cheating can end a marriage and the two people split up to go on different paths. They will always have that love for each other even with that negative energy because this is a chaoitc place and so too are we.
