no you have to comment on other people's posts. its like playing a video game, go around and talk to other characters. if you @ people in a post or comment, they dont get notified of that, (yet). steemit is still in beta.

To use the bot, one must follow it for at least 3 hours, and then make a transaction where the memo is the url of the post.
