I agree society as a whole appears to be quite rude and selfish these days and I agree, if parents don't teach their children what is appropriate and what is not, how will they ever know? I admired the mother too. I guess I meant that I didn't let it bother me, although I knew it wasn't a good way for the child to be when he stepped in front of me, but it was not something I would have addressed directly, like in speaking to him about it myself when he did it. You never know when you will set a parent off like a wild thang, if addressing their children as a stranger.
When my younger brother was... younger, one time he and his wife were at a store and a family was getting into their car next to them and one of the children opened their door and banged the side of my brother's car really hard. His car was fairly new. He got out and before the child could close the door, he stood there and gave him a lecture, not heated and no profane words, but let him know about respecting other people's property and the fact that cars in particular cost a whole lot of money that people worked very hard for. I wasn't there, so I don't know the exact words that were actually said, but his wife said she had been surprised that the mother had just sat there behind the wheel and let him do it without a word! This was a long time back. I don't suppose that sounds like a big deal for these days, but I'm guessing that child never forgot that lesson. My brother is not a tempered person, is intelligent and has manners in general, so if you knew him, it would probably surprise you that he did that. I know it surprised me!
Thank you for the compliment about my art. Most of them don't turn out to be masterpieces, but now and then, some come out in a way that I really love too.
