yesterday, I published my sketch of a whale. Thanks for showing your appreciation.

I created this artwork for a electronic music festival that me and my friends are running. (Wasser mit Geschmack Festival).
So what's the story behind that strange island on the back of a giant whale?
Well, first of all I should explain, what this island is standing for: It represents the place where our event takes place. It's a clearing with a stream running through it, surrounded by the mountain Rosenstein.
Last years (2106) theme was "LEVITATION". We wanted to express that magic feeling of weightlessness that is triggered by music. So I painted this last year:

The whole mountain soars, breaks out of gravity and rises to the sun, powered by music and massive speakers :)
Our festival went great and after the event we extent the story of the floating island:
"The island was still rising towards the sky. People were dancing and laughing; pretending they were gods. But at one point the island wasn't able to keep rising. A rapid fall was inevitable. The island dropped, crashed into the sea and sank into the abyss. After several months in darkness the island will rise from the deep sea on the back of the giant whale."
That's why I 've drawn this image. I really enjoyed working on this picture. It's fun to tell little stories with paintings. It makes me happy.
