Alan on the Ozbus - On the road from Isfahan and Zahedan, Iran.

In 2008 I for some strange reason I decided to take take a bus trip that went from London to Sydney. It took about 3 months to complete and there were ferries involved. There were a group of about 30 or so nutbags who decided to do this.

This is a drawing of Alan, the oldest Ozbus member who was in his 70s at the time travelling across the World in a bus when most of his contemporaries where travelling in a commuter bus to pick up a pension.

The bus sometimes had lengthy stretches where sleeping was the order of the day. I believe this photograph was taken somewhere between Isfahan and Zahedan, Iran. A very bleak desert landscape heading East to our next country, Pakistan and the town of Quetta, the semi lawless town close to the Pakistan/Afghanistan border.

Now I see why they call you @jimdraw... I mean why you call you😄 That's some damn impressive intricate art drawing stuff. I'm sure there are real fancy names for it, but I think it's just awesome.

My name should have been @jimusedtodraw or perhaps @jimcreatesbullshitforsandrina or maybe just @jimisdrawingagainmaybe

This is simply stunning! I am so impressed.

That is very kind. I do have a major problem in that it takes me many many hours to draw this stuff. I wish i had been schooled properly in my early years. I once employed a Khmer illustrator to work on a mobile phone game. He had been traditional trained and could bang this stuff out in 25% of the time.

Try a month of speed sketching! That is what I am doing. Steemit will pay you to practice too. Yes, sit down and go at it for 20 minutes at a time - freeform. You will get faster! I would hate to see this talent fall by the way side. These are really lovely and the way that you talk about sketching so longingly makes me believe that you would be quite happy with yourself should you take up the challenge. Come-on you can do it! I encourage you to keep going with it anyways. You have great work here - and speed can be improved over time just like anything.

I appreciate that, i dare not draw that quickly though, it might be slightly bollocks. Then again perhaps i have get over that.

Yeah - I am fast cause I fought that very thought. Now I try to get detailed fast. I used to do portraits a lot when I was a teenager. Spent ages on some portraits. I tell you what. Sketch for sketch?? I'll promo and resteem your response sketches if you play with me for a little while? 20 minutes out of your day that is all I am asking for.

I'll give 20 minutes of my day for 20 minutes of yours.

Wanna? Artist tag???? I'm bored, play with me... I will tell you the rules, should you accept. Are you prepared?

This is really a well drawn. It reminds me of a Wyeth, before he put watercolor to it...very expressive.

I never been so touched by such horror! On another note, I had to check yesterday if i had pencils and paper still!

It looks like a smoker that has been running haha I think anyways.

Do you have pen and parchment?...You could always steal some crayons from small children if you are in a fix.
