This is a poem for fighting women despite the life's intricacies:
Your words
why do they define me?
Electric, leave them unsaid
Set me free
The anchors on sea
Let your words be
To sink into
The deepest alley
Faith is gone
on city streets
I no longer hear me
I hear the road breathes
Monochrome
is all there is
Remember rainbows?
Tomorrow's at peace
Now for the drawing inspired by the poem, I made the woman look like confident enough to face the everyday struggle. This is just a fast sketch and very easily done with few materials. Firstly, I'll show you the materials I used.
Now onto the drawing, I used the middle pencil shown above in outlining my desired portrait. I usually do this in my drawings to act as a guide throughout the process. Without which I will be a mess (haha!)
Then detailing some parts and highlighting her beautiful edges using the mechanical pencil as this has the darker lead which makes highlighting easier and is light on the hand with no pressure needed. Thus, less work done on doing her eyebrows, lips, and hair :)
Now, pushing through the detailing and making smart guesses on where to highlight that is easy on the eyes, it looks like this. I am feeling content with it so I left it like that because I think exaggerating it will make the portrait less attractive (heheh)
So instead of really putting some work into it, I left it as simple as that and opt to making a calligraphy statement around her as her aura bursting braver as inspired by the poem. I first penciled the quotation that will reflect the portrait's personality.
Then using the 0.1 Uni Pen, I started tracing the quotation letter by letter carefully. I like using this pen as this is not gonna smudge around when touched unintentionally because it dries fast.
After the final touches, it looks like this now.
Featuring my not-so-messy bed/workplace (haha!)
That would be it for now, fellow Steemians! Hope you like it! :)
