Paris by the pixels

in #art9 years ago (edited)

Pixelated images are often ugly to me, for obvious reasons. But there are some exceptions that I have collected during my time living in Paris. What I find pleasing about these images is how they sit in a precarious balance between noise and form. Zoom a little too close and all you see are intricate, but isolated patterns. Zoom a little bit out and you can easily recognize shapes, and maybe even Paris itself!

The shapes that are visible zoomed out still capture a lot of what is beautiful about Paris. Yet they leave their subjects anonymous. In the first of these photos, for example, we see a couple on their way home, late at night, on one of many of Paris's boulevards.
