reminds me of the gimp kaleidoscopes i use two methods :D depending on my mood ones easier and faster then the other
I've been using Photoshop for years, and I've tried Gimp, but it doesn't work for me. I also do kaleidoscopes in Paint.net.
The one in the picture above is one frame from a video I made in Premiere, I have there one plugin for kaleidoscopes on video :)
i forgot if i tried paint i dont like most i prefer the one i always use :D but i did try many long ago cant remember which ones has much more details then your norm kaleidoscope :P and fits my fractals very well in the abstractions
