You know I knew that was happening, but I think I'd made the false assumption that it probably didn't have a huge impact. It would be really interesting to see some analytics on this, like how much of the entire reward pool was going to accounts with...say less than 50 SP. Wouldn't be a perfect metric, but could maybe give a ballpark idea of how big an impact it had.

If you were the only one voting on any given day, those votes would be worth the entire reward pool. I noticed the value of my vote is now higher than it was before the changes. Over 50 cents higher. The paid votes make the largest dent. If those were gone, it wouldn't cost so much to move this reward pool around. I'd guess 1000 SP would be able to move $1. I could be way off though. I just know 1000 SP would be able to move a lot more than it can now.
Legend has it some of those spam rings were moving thousands per day. I'm sure someone out there has the numbers.
Penguinpablo publishes some daily statistics but I don't think that's what you're looking for.
1k SP being $1 would be pretty crazy. Pretty exciting to see things developing for the better.
