I really don't believe in the Goldilocks zone. I think the reason these things "exist" are to comfort the poor little scientists that can't cope with the idea that life has no true limitations and restrictions.
what does it mean to believe in the goldielocks zone? its not really a belief as much as an expression of the probability of life evolving there. i don't know about you but my hopes are for finding intelligent life, not just some microbes & viruses. and complex life seems to have some comfort requirements. if you look on earth we have extreme conditions too, and there is life in those enviorments, but very simple life
Yes, but that's here on Earth. On Earth, intelligent life has some comfort requirements. But intelligent life on other planets probably doesn't have the same comfort requirements that intelligent life on Earth does.
Ultimately, we are all products of the environments on Earth.
Let's not forget all the "it's impossible for any form of life to survive in X environment"and how pretty much every single time, they're proven wrong.
I'm very certain that the reason why we haven't found intelligent life (if we really haven't, as that's another rabbit hole) is because we're so obsessed with the Goldilocks Zone that we just don't look on planets that aren't perfectly within in.
They found microbial life on Venus, which is supposed to be impossible.
Sure, finding microbial life might not be terribly exciting at first, but it's still life. So we should keep looking into it.
