“When plunder becomes a way of life for a group of men in a society, over the course of time they create for themselves a legal system that authorizes it and a moral code that glorifies it.”

Thanks, Mr. Bastiat, for filling in for me. I couldn't have said it better myself. 😂 Even though the current Independence Day is pretty much a joke (the government I'm under now is far more invasive and thieving than King George's Britain), I never want to pass up an opportunity to diss kings, presidents, lobbyists and pampered men in pointy hats for their insatiable lust for power, dominance and undeserved respect. Sons of bitches all!

Sort:

yesterday you celebrated the day of joke, I wanted to say your Independence Day and today it's time to "celebrate" in my country a joke worse than yours at the moment we are more dependent than ever there is nothing to celebrate just seeing as a lot of politicians corrupt fat and dressed in clothes of thousands of dollars speak to us in the most cynical way there is, how can a person become so damned?

On the other hand you should think about stamping your drawings on some shirts, Many people would surely want to buy some

As I mentioned yesterday, the only good thing about governments is their evil stupidity causes crypto to have its value... but then again neither I or anyone I know really has enough to live well :-/

On the other hand you should think about stamping your drawings on some shirts, Many people would surely want to buy some

I'm just a bad marketer, I've tried for years to sell shirts and gave up :)

maybe you're not a bad seller I'm not a professional seller but I think the customer is not always right, maybe you've had bad customers, sure now that someone sees you in steemit if they're going to want a shirts with your art

I've sold a few shirts via Steem, ehhh... I just don't want to try any more 😆😆😆

ok i see the good thing is that you found something better than selling shirts, how about your weekend friend?

Sadly the US government has a shadow state over it. What we just have to do is not rely on the state and fend for ourselves and do good for everyone and preach morality to our younglings @overkillcoin so that at least for the long term it will shape the nation into more God-fearing country.

I think over 1/2 of Americans are on some type of government assistance... tha'ts too insane, but it sure does give the government power over lives... Some aid is more legit than others, since it's hard to get by for the middle and low classes... but why not just stop stealing 40% of everyone's paychecks? No, they can't stop the vampire habits, it's at the core of who they are.

I agree with your ideas, but it seems no one's willing to listen :-/

Upvoted!

I remember trying to tell someone how the idea that we need to go back to the golden times is stupid to say the least.

Its populist rhetoric to appeal to our nostalgic tendencies... but, if you point it out, you are a traitor.

The idea that we need more government, to fix what the government did is so stupid. For the life of me, I can't understand how people chose to be that blind.

"So, i took the car to the mechanic... he farked it up, its running terribly, and I paid him good money... I just spoke to him, he told me that now he is going to fix it... that he just needs more money, and he'll tell care of it this time... this time he will actually fix it "

It was sort of golden before the Federal Reserve (and the New Deal) came along so far as I know... Which golden times do you refer to - post WW2?

For the life of me, I can't understand how people chose to be that blind.

I was pretty stunned (shouldn't have been) when anti-statists like Stefan Molyneux and Alex J. hopped on board the Trump train... Damn sell-outs! Stefan singing the "Star-Spangled Banner" after Trump's election was surreal and disturbing... From "principled anarchist" to statist chimp! Then A.J.'s pseudo-eloquent patriotic slobbering over the new Prez... Crazy **** — although I was never really on-board with those weirdos from the get go. I'm pretty good at smelling rats, even when I can't quite articulate why.

Yep, how can anyone see a politician as a saviour and not a raging parasite - that's beyond me.

I like the bird. lol

Heron-lawyer wants to sue you for all you're worth lolz...

You should have put that in the description. lol

What's the story on the frog?

Maybe a central banker or a frogligarch.

Well, the politicians are rubbish, but I bet them all and I won that the worst politicians that exist are the Venezuelans, on the one hand they kill you and say that it was the same person who did it.

On the other hand with their economic measures they end up with everything so that people go hungry and at the end they throw a box with food that lasts a week and they give it every 3 months and the food is of the worst quality, I think that dog food is healthier and of better quality than that delivered by the socialist sons of bitches that govern my country.

Then out of gratitude you must give them the vote at the time of fraudulent elections.

Hi are you on the discord? Trying to contact you.

I solve something with my Internet and I write to you. ;)

I find it very funny. because content of this post is applicable to more than one government that I know. hahahaha And what I think should not to celebrate a day that really does not exist. Because they really are dependent on each other. Until the moment arrives of its self-destruction. Unfortunately the swamp grows every day.

Enjoyed the illustration... not much "independence" here in the US, sadly. The quote kinda makes me wonder if the entirity of the human experience increasingly revolves around devising ways to avoid personal accountability.

Yeah, people want a free ride on the government's shoulders... but what does that represent? Some kind of "entitlement?" Which means not being accountable for creating your own way to get by, right? But how did we get trained to think that way?

It's a rabbit hole I often go down when people roll out Anarchist or Libertarian ideologies... lovely ideas but a lot of people don't actually want to have the sort of "freedom" that also means they have to be accountable for their own lot in life....

Those are my "celebratory" July 4th musings!

=^..^=

Yeah, you're not really independent are you? Fucking scumbag pollies. Someone should throw them all in the swamp. That sounds like a step in the right direction.

Someone should throw them all in the swamp.

Tropical swamps have more nasties in them. Giant pythons and whatnot. They could slowly be crushed to death in the same way they've been crushing the middle class 😂

“The government is good at one thing. It knows how to break your legs, and then hand you a crutch and say, 'See if it weren't for the government, you wouldn't be able to walk.”

― Harry Browne

Ooh, another accurate quote!

Good night friend, great story, I love your drawings hehehe big crocodile was great.

I gave it 69% because essentially it is everyone trying to be sucked off by everyone else.

Lolz — sad but true, parasites are parasites whether it's a lazy **** collecting a check — or an arms dealer encouraging a bloated military budget...

It'd be nice to declare independence, this time from the current system, but that's when you'd get pepper-sprayed, jailed and labeled a traitor...

Enjoy your fireworks and hot dogs, you damned statist lackeys! XD

Indeed well said and sadly true. Corruption power and Taxation are all out of hand. And yet few have the balls to raise hell about it. I truly enjoyed your blog today happy Independence Day @overkillcoin

Unfortunately when creating a state so people become conformists and accept that happen no matter who can harm, the man can become very selfish just to meet his goals, in any way is a cute animal design in the Swamp XD

Swamps is as swamps does or something or life is like a box of swamps, I don't know, I'm sure there is some forrest gump answer to life, right? Love your drawing!

Bastiat sounds like a true libertarian.

There are so many fake ones today, Mike, I had to dial the time machine back to about 200 years ago! :D

Well put... we're celebrating am empty promise!

I tend to think government sliminess is what makes crypto so valuable though (trying hard to look on the bright side) :D

Wich one is Boris the animal?

I'm not familiar with the Boris... do you mean Boris Yeltsin?

Hmm... Yeltsin was real animal, yes. But I mean Boris Jonson :-}

the British guy ? I tend to stay out of politics in general, but from what I know about him, I definitely don't like... they seem like fakes :D

;-)
