The Joker - Graphite and color

in #art6 years ago

Many actors have taken on the challenge of playing a character as controversial as The Joker. There is a wide debate about who has made the best interpretation. But my favorite, is the one that was played by Heath Ledger in "Batman - The Knight of the Night". Heath Ledger manages to masterfully represent an imposing villain, who without super powers, only with ingenuity, is almost invincible. A character of anarchic ideology, who became the favorite villain of pop culture. Therefore, this time I bring you a drawing of The Joker, played by Heath Ledger. Hope you like.

Materials

-Graphite pencil number 2 (HB)
-Paper.
-Red color.

I started with the eyes, since I wanted to express in the drawing that intimidating and calculating look of The Joker. I sought to give a light reflection to the pupil to give a special character to the finish.

I kept the game of contrast between light and dark tones in the look. I gave the darker shade of graphite to the pupils, seeking to accentuate that cold look.

I continued with the rest of the face, drawing the features and makeup details of The Joker. In a dialogue of the film it is explained that The Joker uses makeup to intimidate, he uses it as a war painting. The makeup that Heath Ledger used, was proposed by him, and the production, upon seeing it, liked it and they approved it.

Before adding the characteristic red color in the smile of The Joker, I preferred to continue with the hair. A hair of careless appearance, and something long. To do it, I only changed the thickness and intensity of the lines.

I continued with his suit, using a slight shading looking for a depth effect. And with care, I drew the details of the tie.

I finished the area of the suit and the hand with the glove holding the letter. I drew a peculiar design on the letter, to give it a special touch. And finally, I added the color red, and refined the details, to get the final result that you will see below.

The red color managed to give the touch to the finish. I am satisfied with the result, and happy to have drawn my favorite villain, The Joker. An epic character played by Heath Ledger, we will all remember. What do you think? You can support me with your vote if you wish. You can also leave your comment.
