Black And White With A Splash Of Color

Most of this piece was done with pen and ink, the apples are rendered with watercolor and gouache. I wanted the stark lines with black and white to pop the one color I use in this painting. This is also my favorite way to decorate my kitchen. Dirt can't hide when everything is black and white!

@reddust, the shading on the apples is incredible. Really appreciate how it adds dimension.
And the tiles look so simple, but I know how hard it is to create the geometric symmetry.

For the longest time when I was a child art was my way from hiding from the horrors of the darkness that can manifest in humans, now I get to share my love. I hope my art helps lighten the hearts of others. Art is way better than drugs when healing from trauma.

I love it :) I think counter tops are one of the harder things to do and I thought you nailed it; I also think the gradients on your apples are excellent! Makes me want to eat one....well, if I liked green apples.
