Don't Look At The Edges
This was my first piece using mosaic design as a background. I really struggled and got lost carrying the design through and past the character to the edges of the paper. I felt really frustrated and wanted to throw the piece in the garbage! Plus I'm still struggling with hands. My husband said Puck's forefinger looks like a penis. He was right, but I continued on, certainly not my best work, but I finished it!
"Parallel words exist in many ancient languages - puca in Old English, puki in Old Norse, puke in Swedish, puge in Danish, puks in Low German, pukis in Latvia and Lithuania -- mostly with the original meaning of a demon, devil or evil and malignant spirit ... Because of this similarity it is uncertain whether the original puca sprang from the imaginative minds of the Scandinavians, the Germans or the Irish. -Gillian Edwards, Hobgoblin and Sweet Puck p.143"

Beautiful work dear friend @reddust thank you very much for sharing
Thank you dear friend @jlufer for supporting my art work.
Amazing art @reddust

@barvon, I try to be perfect, but always fall short. I'm getting used to falling, I'm learning how to tuck and roll before I hit the ground. Thank you for supporting my art work.
No results if not started with effort.
Great patience.
Thanks @reddust
You are right❤️

Very nice work!
Thank you @denmarkguy for supporting my art work🌸
Yea, proportions and foreshortening. Tough stuff. I just wrote a post covering those topics last week, mentioned you somewhere in there too.
Dang, I'm going to have to put you on a list of people I need to check up on daily, I've put this off forever! Going to do it today! Foreshortening is an amazing skill to use in painting and drawing, I still need to work on it, but I've gotten the basics down. @kidsysco, thank you!
No worries, I only post about once or twice per week but I have gotten used to seeing your posts in my feeds and I tend to be pretty vocal. Thanks! See you around!
The character in front does stand out. After looking again I really noticed the shapes in the background. They form together into star shapes. That is a nice pattern and design. Here again, I could see some really nice opportunities for variation here. Very cool technique!
