February Bullet Journal Monthly Cover: Manifesting Gratitude

There is a verse that I keep close to my heart and it says, “If you are faithful in the little things, you will be faithful in the large ones.”. If we have small things and we take care of them, we are grateful for them, we will be blessed with even greater things. Not taking care of the things we have no matter how meager they are shows that we are not ready to accept bountiful, much greater things.

Hello lovely readers! As we start the month of February, I have decided to create a new bullet journal monthly cover. My bullet journal monthly cover page is inspired by manifesting gratitude into my life. February is also my birth month thus, I would like to radiate gratitude to show how grateful I am for what I have.

If you are inspired by how to create a cover page like this, then keep on reading!

For this page, here are the art materials I used:

• My ring binder
• A brown notepad
• White and gold paint
• Stickers and washi tapes
• Tombow brown pen
• Black pens (0.5, 0.3)
• Metallic pen
• Black notebook
• Pages of a damaged book

For the ring binder, you may use any sturdy notebook with fine pages preferrable thick. I ordered mine through Shopee (mostly all of the materials I used were ordered there as well). The brown notepad is used for adding the brownish vintage theme. I also used some washi tapes and stickers for additional designs. You can use any color for the paint but for this particular page, I used white and gold so that it will create a galaxy like look. It is not necessary to use the Tombow brown pen, any brown pen will do. The 0.5 pen is for darker details, 0.3 pen is for thinner lines.

I started by taping a black paper on my ring binder. I just tore it gently to add more effect.

For this step, use your creativity and tear the pages by the design you are thinking of. You may do it in a random manner, just like how I did.

I didn’t fill all the pages with black paper because I am planning to do so on the left page.

For the next part, I taped other details. I also found a damaged book and tore pages of it.

Don’t worry because I will also not risk a book that I still want to use.

This particular book has its pages torn off that’s why I have decided to use this on my bullet journal entries since I won’t be able to restore it anymore.

Using a metallic pen, I drew a flower detail.

Make sure to use a metallic pen so that it will be clearer to see since the background is already a bit dark. There are lots of colors to choose from when using a metallic pen, but for this page, I used the silver one to fit with my galaxy background on the other page.

You can draw anything you like, be creative and remember, your imagination is the only limit.

Next, I wrote a simple phrase “be grateful for each day” just to add a little bit of text aligned with the theme, “Gratitude”.

I used the 0.5 pen for this to make it look a little bit bolder and make it stand out.

I also cut out each word to add dimension to the text, just adding a little bit of outline in every word.

Using my stickers, I added some details just to fill in the blank pages.

What I love about these stickers is that they feature some of the world’s greatest places. They also remind me of postage stamps for mails.

They are so pretty and they look a little bit vintage. So cute right?

For this page, I’ve decided to make the background like the dark sky at night. Using a brush, I splattered the white and gold paint all over it.

For the white paint, I used a chalk paint. It is not necessary to use one, you may use any paint available.

The gold paint is my calligraphy ink because that's what I also have that's available.

After drying off the paint, similar to the page at the right, I added different types of paper.

Layer over layer and scribbled a few notes relating to my theme.

I also put a small calendar for the month of February and added notes that says today: be thankful, keep a positive mindset and stay grounded. Those three mentioned are my goals for this month to manifest gratitude into my life.

Finally, let me share with you my finished product:

What does gratitude mean to me?

Being grateful is a value I wish I could practice every day. For me, it doesn’t necessarily mean not to seek for greater in life because I am contented already but it means that I understand the process. That I am currently in the process of being great. In the meantime, I will be happy with what I have and be thankful for it while I am for an even greater life.

Being grateful for me doesn’t mean that I will not strive to become better because I am already thankful for what I have but for me manifesting gratitude in my life is knowing that while I am still in the process of learning, growing, and evolving into a better individual, I appreciate the things I have and I appreciate the people that surround me.
