A recipient of the 2003 Cultural Center of the Philippines Thirteen Artists Award and the 2006 Ateneo Art Award. Cruz has received a Fellowship from the Asian Cultural Council New York USA 2008/2009, recipient of a travel grant from the NCCA for attending Art Tuilage, in Burgundy, France in 2007. He has participated in numerous show here and abroad like Switzerland, Australia,Singapore and the United States.
The 13 artist awardee is an active- cross-disciplinary –artist-organizer. His mixed media pieces shows strong allegorical images of social order. His ingenous abeit controversial body works includes art performances and “Politeismo” which became centerpiece at the much talked about “kulo” exhibit at Cultural Center of the Philippines
