Art Party 03

This post is about another art party we had in the city earlier this January.

It was a saturday afternoon, which is usually when I hang out with my friends in the city as everyone works full time now and everyone is free only on the weekends. My sister was also contacted through a mutual friend by Dan and Kaitlin, a couple backpacking across India who were in town for the weekend. They're also and musicians and artists and based on how awesome our previous art parties were, we hosted another art party, including them.

After contacting our local squad we assembled at our house and kicked off the evening with high tea, where my mom made some great snacks and we of course had tea.

This art party had a little bit of a twist, as we also had musicians to add to the creative energy of the group. Dan brought along his travel cello and my friend Alex brought his guitar. They were jamming and providing a beautiful soundtrack while the rest of us drew or painted.

We didn't have a particular theme and everyone just went along with the flow of the music, drawing whatever they wanted. Here's what we all came up with.

Kaitlin

Kaitlin used watercolours to create some psychedelia with abstract shapes and colours.

Karunya

Karunya used pastels and watercolours to explore different organic forms.

Bhavya

Bhavya used watercolours and ink to render this awesome drawing from a garden photo.

Yours Truly

I used a lot of geometric lines using pens of different thicknesses for my creative exploration.

My parents were also part of the party and joined in on the art and music. When we were done with our art we moved over to Alex's house for a regular Saturday night of merry making and revelry. This was the last art party we had before I had to move back to the hills to continue my permaculture journey. It was great time and we all had a lot of fun. I later caught up with Dan and Kaitlin in Kodaikanal as they continued their backpacking trip.

Shoutout to @bhavyadesai who was the only one who remembered to document the process while the rest of were lost in the zone. All the images in this post were taken by him and used with his permission. He hasn't started blogging yet, but stay tuned for some great art posts. Meanwhile check out his instagram page here

Look like you guys had loads of fun! The art work is truly amazing, thank you for sharing your fun weekend😊

Yep, it was an awesome weekend :) The art really did step up a notch for this party. I've got some great creative friends.

this looks so damned fun!!

It really was. The one thing I miss most about the city are the people, though I'm slowly discovering a wonderful community in the hills as well.

Art parties are quite fun. Here we have sip n paint. Where people around town get to gather, drink wine and paint anything they would like.
Gatherings are important and adding art and music is a bonus :) This sounded like a great time you all had ^_^

That's awesome. Art parties also involve a lot of sipping and painting. When we were in college we used to sometimes go to to pubs and ask people to buy us beer in exchange for some art work. It worked quite a few times! It really was a great time and the music did make it all the better.

HAHA that's great! College life sounds like quite an adventure :p

Looks like you all had another enjoyable and really creative day together. Enriching for all to be in this energy. 🦋

We did :) Colab work is always so rewarding. I'm just getting into trying to do that through steemit. There's a lot of great people to work with here too! It's not the same as an art party, but there's a lot of potential.

When we were done with our art we moved over to Alex's house for a regular Saturday night of merry making and revelry. - hahahaa. Poor Alex.

I missed this one but did I tell you that I really like your black and white style?

We missed you too!
Lol, it was Alex's idea to move to his place cause he had more instruments and also lasers.
Thanks, I'm not as comfortable with colour yet. Geometric lines and black pens are what get me into a kinda zen mode.
