Inktober 2019 Day 21 - Treasure

in #art5 years ago

I did an image search that brought up treasure chests and that inspired me to try The Luggage from Terry Pratchett's Discworld books. This is the first of the series.

Treasure

Here's the cover I copied it from.

Cover

The luggage is a chest made of sapient pearwood which has a mind of its own and is very protective of its owner Twoflower who is coming down the stairs. You may just be able to see he has too many eyes. This was due to the artists Josh Kidby mis-interpreting the reference in the book to him having 'four eyes' when it actually meant he wore glasses.

It is a great book that I ought to read again some time.

I've never heard of these books before. Are they graphic novels or actual books? I might have to check them out. Nice drawing!

They were originally novels, but some have been adapted for comics, animation and TV movies. They started as a spoof of fantasy books, but evolved to be more than that.

I love Pratchett and even though I have a pile of unread books I sometimes consider rereading the witch series, or the Death series... maybe the guards.

Nice to see that this post is not thrashed by Haejin... yet, at least - It's a Long, Long Way to Tipperary, this Steem War.

He's not going to get me down. My other half re-reads the books a lot, but I never find the time.

I can't imagine anybody here getting you down :)
