Hey nice work! Very bright colors.
I also like to paint using a reference, like a photo.
I also teach watercolor classes and photo is the best way to show and explain what I do and why I do it.
It's also helpful to use a grid (or literally draw horizontal and vertical lines via pencil) to see if the proportions fit.
