¡Ha sido muy duro afrontar estos tiempos de pandemia! Para los que vivimos en Venezuela el choque resulta 10 veces más estresante. Confieso que describir mi estado anímico actual es difícil para mi. He tenido muchas caídas en lo que a mi humor y motivación ‘por hacer' se refiere como el hecho mismo de publicar con constancia en este medio. He buscado reanimarme con la realización de tareas que reaviven mi espíritu. Este día he recuperado algo de mi ímpetu, de mis ganas ‘de hacer’ y trato de volver a desarrolla todas esas cosas o tareas que me apasionan y amo compartir (escribir, dibujar, leer, la fotografía, etc).
It has been very hard to face this time of pandemic! For those of us who live in Venezuela, the shock is 10 times more stressful. I confess that describing my current state of mind is difficult for me. I have had many falls when it comes to my humor and motivation ‘to do’ is referred to as the very fact of constantly publishing in this medium. I have sought to revive myself with tasks that rekindle my spirit and awaken my motivation again. Today I have recovered some of my momentum, my desire ‘to do' and I try to redevelop all those things or tasks that I am passionate about and love to share (writing, drawing, reading, photography, etc).
En esta nueva publicación, quiero compartir con ustedes varias fotografías de una serie que he estado tomando cada tarde desde el balcón de mi residencia en la ciudad de Cumaná, estado Sucre, Venezuela. Una de varias acciones que cada día ejecuto para sobre llevar esta situación de encierro. Esta colección de fotos las he llamado ‘Desde el Balcón’ y crece con el paso de los días. Cada despedida del sol la capturo con mi teléfono inteligente ‘Umidigi A3’ mientras doy gracias a Dios por otro día cumplido.
In this new publication, I want to share with you several photographs from a series that I have been taking every afternoon from the balcony of my residence in the city of Cumaná, Sucre state, Venezuela. I have called this collection of photos ‘From the Balcony’ and it grows over the days. Each farewell to the sun I capture it with my phone ‘Umidigi A3’ while I thank God for another day fulfilled.
Aunque la visión del paisaje es siempre la misma, el cielo se viste de diferentes colores. Trato de buscar siempre tonos distintos en cada toma dejando fuera los filtros y jugando más con el valor del ISO o el balance de blancos de la cámara de mi smartphone. También uso el tiempo para conseguir variaciones esperando lapsos de diez o quince minutos entre una serie de fotos y otra; cada serie consta de ocho fotografías. Repito la acción hasta que el sol se hunde completamente en el horizonte, en el 'Mar Caribe'.
Although the view of the landscape is always the same, the sky is dressed in different colors. I try to always look for different tones in each shot, leaving out the filters and playing more with the ISO value or the white balance of the camera of my smartphone. I also use the time to get variations by waiting ten to fifteen minute lapses between one series of photos and another; each series consists of eight photographs. I repeat the action until the sun completely sinks on the horizon of the 'Caribbean Sea'.
