Ever tried to make a seamless repeating texture in Photoshop?
This is not so easy, I did spend lots of time in Photoshop to create floor patterns, meadows or endless wall patterns for clients.
Seamless patterns can be used in 3d software as endless backgrounds.
They consist mostly of squares of 256x256 or 512x512 pixels, but also rectangular sizes like 400x300 can be repeating patterns.
The difficulty with these repeating patterns is that the top has to match exactly with the bottom and left has to match exactly with right on the pixel level!
As some of my followers might have noticed, I am a big fan of Mediachance software.
I posted allready on DAP, Realdraw and Ultrasnap, but they make another very interesting variation on the Real Draw engine: PatternStudio.
This is in its simplicity an incredible ingenious tool: You just start drawing / creating instant seamless patterns!
It could'nt be simpler!
It is really addictive to experiment with Patternstudio, so as from today I start posting daily textures.
