You nailed it, very soon libraries may become outdated, as it is they are not very popular nowadays as compared to 20 years back. There was critical thinking behind every assignment and job but now it's just about the right words to search what you want. Things like drafting letters, doing assignments not only did it help with critical thinking but also with improving our vocublary. These days everything is slang and vocublary also has shortcuts.
