American writer Andre Norton has opened for me an amazing fantasy world. Her novels about the adventures in space of free traders and the magic of witch worlds won my heart. Two themes: space and magic are closely intertwined in each of her novels, emphasizing the individuality of the author.
In this illustration to the novel "Long live, Lord Cor!" I drew Mehr Rampal in the image of Nicole and the fantastic landscape of the planet Vallek: the Fire Worm (local fauna), spy eyes, alien bansai and a sandy valley with rocks, devoid of water and vegetation.
