🎨 TRIPTACULAR DECALCOMANIAC

in #artzone7 years ago (edited)

Here is a large digital rendering from a detail of my drawing
Eros Thanatos II

It again is a detail of a much larger panel I created and intended for a cooperative artwork - but the challenge has not been taken up yet. I might pitch it again to some artists I had worked with in the past.

MY INTRODUCTION - ABOUT MY WORK

Sort:

Really nice, Otto :) I hope this is taken up by other artists so we can see another amazing collab works like the first HUGE one that you did...

I really like the strange cracked egg head of the figure on the lower right, and how you kept the eyes in blue-gray-scale amidst the sepia tones of the piece. It really makes the eyes very alive!

The texturing and fine detailing are gorgeous as usual <3 And I love that you set the entire thing against that deep crimson background :) So very lovely!

Thanks - the whole canvas is much larger - this here is from the right side of it.
The actual canvas was black, but I isolated this piece and created a PING file with transparent background, so I actually can clone it on any color canvas - or on merchandise, such as T-Shirts (that is actually the plan for this one).
I pitched it to a few artists I had worked with before, but they are not into digital, so I have to find others that are.
A digital colab is much easier to do crossing borders. You don't need to send actual artwork back and forth (and through customs) but simply use https://wetransfer.com/ to send even gigantic files back and forth.
I hope it catches on with some other artists I am going to approach.
In fact, I had myself contributed to a Australian magazine one time, doing exactly that - the canvas was a meandering "exquisite corpse" that grew with every contributor in length. There are groups on DeviantArt like this https://www.deviantart.com/theexquisitecorpse and this https://www.deviantart.com/theexquisitecorpse

It seems that the devil is in the detail...

definitely is - and not just one!
There is even one of it in my head

...as long as you can see them and keep count of there's not much danger...but the invisible ones...!
