Odds And Ends Before We Roll

in #asapers6 years ago (edited)

Where are you rolling to Sheila? Well, our time in the great West is coming to a close, it's getting warmer by the day and the desert is not where I want to be during the summer months.

The Start

The Finish

Today I will be painting trying to get a portrait finished before we leave since the next few days are us getting the coach ready to leave on Wednesday. We have or stops planned out and we will call ahead so we can get spots. Everyone right now will be travelling East after spending their winter in California and Arizona and I'm envisioning a stream of Coaches, Fifth Wheels and Travel Trailers nose to butt going across the country.

What I'm Working On Today

IMG_6470.JPG

It's a portrait of Princess, a small sweet 'ol girl I met at Black Meadow Landing in California this winter. Still have a ways to go.

Other Random Stuff

I did a small montage of pieces that have recently sold. My hope is that I can drop doing portraits for awhile and concentrate on work I want to do. Yes, the funds do come in from the portraits but I have found a fun niche in my rodeo series and Wild Burro watercolors and they are selling so more of those. I also want to capture in paint what we have experienced while traveling this winter.

POWERFUL being my word.. I finished three pieces the other day then sat down and started a fourth before dinner.

My art Muse was moving me and I "knew" it would sell and sure enough, it did that night.

Going through a drawing pad that I had hidden away I found this drawing. My sweet Muse Sophie, now my Spirit Muse.

And Finally..

The Blue Moon over the Huachuca Mountains on our last Friday night.

And the sunset..

What an adventure....

These are wonderful @swedegis!! You are very talented...Roger should be singing your praises :) The 'horse' one that sold is stunning! Just to let you know, @charisma777 is holding a simple contest for anyone who takes a photo of the moon, to share in her post; yours would be perfect! And, I see that @asapers beat me to the punch, @insideoutlet has already been here...hooray!! Congratulations ;)

This is what belonging to @asapers is all about; tell Roger to get his butt in gear and do the same haha

Thankyou Lynn. I will tell him.. lol

These are all so amazing! You are very talented. I love the one of the donkey, I had a photo with a donkey recently and that face is the same one that came at me to eat my hair, was hilarious. Thanks for sharing and tagging @asapers. :)

Oh thankyou. The Burros are hysterical. I stopped the car to take pictures and he stuck his head right in the window and sniffed to see what was in there. I had been eating a blueberry scone so I know he got a good whiff of crumbs. lol

Some very nice work, and pleasant travels to the east. Why is it go west young man, then when we get older it is go east to florida to retire?

We lived in Florida for 20 years, 3 of them in the RV. For me personally, boring and way too hot. My blogs when we get back will reflect about how hot I am all the time. lol
Thank you about my work.

Finish that portrait of Princess pronto! I can't wait to see the finished product. And then that sketch of it yet! lol.

But then that is the thing with painting, the sketch can look that...what..anything i guess, but yet offer the framework for the finest product!

You draw well. Very. All that Donkey stuff, and else, is marvelous.

It is easy to see why @asapers chose this work for a resteem and curation. It belong to the top.

Edit- My Voting power is way to low right now. Let me wait it out to recharge and return boom with a 100%! This work deserves more.

Thank you so very much. Almost finished Princess. Letting it dry a bit before I go into all her fur. Yes, from the sketch to the finish t may change somewhere about 5 different times or more. I've been known to wipe out a "finished" eye to get it on the correct level. <3

I will just stay on the look out! Happy Easter.

Thanksand Happy Easter to you too.

wow! These are stunning! I especially love the horses. Amazing work - keep it up!!!

Thank you. I fell in love with the rodeo then decided to do it all in the technique I'm using.. I'm hooked.
