I think they still don't consider Internet a utility over here. I think that is part of the reason why the big telecom companies are able to have their monopolies and charge us so much money. It is ridiculous. I'd love for something cheap and high speed to come along that I could easily switch to.

ah, I hadn't even thought about that. Yeah, telelcom is super cheap over here too and once again it is probably mostly because of competition. Well, that and the fact that if they charged what Americans routinely pay very few people would be able to have it at all over here.
