Planets in Capricorn 2018 Insights #2

in #astrology6 years ago (edited)

Welcome back Steemians! Do you feel like your hard work should pay off this year? Have you felt particularly inspired to set realistic goals and strive to reach them? Is your dream becoming closer and closer to reality? If so, you may indeed be feeling the Capricornian energy that is reaching us from the heavens!

In the last post on the heavenly bodies in Capricorn we got an introduction into the sign of Capricorn and a peak into what Mercury in Capricorn is like, "Realism enters the picture, our speech is no-nonsense, and precision becomes important to us." (cafe astrology). There are a few more planets to go, because they are having a party in the sign of the goat this year! I am especially excited to get into research on the New Moon coming up, because it seems to me that this new moon is like a launch pad for our practical plans!

Lets jump right into our exploration of the planets in Capricorn, starting with the planet of love, sensuality and beauty. Venus is in Capricorn from Dec 25th until Jan 17th.

A short stay, and we have already been feeling this influence for the past couple weeks, and it will only stick around for the New Moon planet party before entering the sign of Aquarius.

Like Mercury, I also naturally have my Venus in Capricorn, so I guess I know what its like in a way, this energy feels natural to me. When people talk about Venus in Capricorn, often they bring up the fact that a native to this placement would be inclined to marry someone with more prestige or money, and that money creates emotional security in this placement. I have to differ on this concept. Venus, the sign of sensuality and of pleasure, does not create a love for wealth, power and work in Capricorn as much as you would think. It instead gives the feeling that work can be pleasurable, but not too much work, and it must be work that you love!

Venus in Capricorn also gives importance to faithfulness and long lasting relationships and partnerships. Capricorn likes security and Venus is very nurturing. We also take our feelings more seriously with this placement and want reliability. I relate! It also takes me a while to warm up to people, but once you are my friend, you are my friend for life if you so choose! Cafe Astrology has a perfect explanation:

"Getting serious about our finances and boosting our relations with business partners and/or co-workers will be easier than usual under this influence. Our talents for creating artistic structure and form are enhanced, and our ability to form connections with people who support our ambitions is increased."

I definitely feel this influence in the form of getting serious about finances and finding connections and networking! Do you? Is this something that has been in your life lately? It feels auspicious to me, like I am finding some material success but aligned with my spiritual self, is this the pleasure of Venus in Capricorn?

Let us get into Mars now, the planet of physical energy, masculine passion, and war. Mars will be in Capricorn from March 17th until May 15th 2018. It then goes into Aquarius until August and then goes retrograde for the month of August.

This means we will be reviewing the hard work we did in the springtime, and its a time to tie up the loose ends and take a breather before Mars goes direct again.

Mars is the sign that fights first, asks questions later. It wants to charge ahead into its goals and with as much passion and energy it can muster, often without foresight or any thought at all. Mars is our animal impulses and instincts. Mars feels good in Capricorn, and naturally works well there. Capricorn gives some focus and slows down the planet so that Mars charges ahead methodically and with direction, rather then just willy nilly.

Mars in Capricorn is a purposeful and directed energy, with a more level headed feel. This is an amazing time to get work done and to strive ahead one important step at a time. Since Mars deals with anger, aggression and sexual impulses, Capricorn will give us more self-control in these areas, but be careful not to hold onto things too tightly when they are no good for you. Capricorn can fear letting go and it can fear the messiness of life. Neither Mars nor Capricorn are very sensitive nor compassionate, so we have to also remember to be kind and compassionate. We must remember not to step on others to reach our successes, but instead give a helping hand and we will all reach out goals together!

Tarot.com says:

"There's another upside to the pragmatic energy created by Mars in Capricorn. This transit wants us to not only question why we're doing what we're doing, but how we're doing it. Mars wants to act, and Capricorn wants to make sure we do it with purpose. This transit, then, is a time to set clearer goals and re-evaluate our previous goals so we can do them in a better, more efficient way."

Do you get the gist of what Mars in Capricorn is all about? Its a good time for defining your goals and getting work done in the physical realm, in a very pragmatic way. I for one am excited for this energy to come into play come spring, it will give us a good boost and hopefully help me stay on track with the garden plan cuz organization is not my strong suit! Let us get shit done this year, helped along by Capricorn energy!

I am glad I am able to share with you my research and what I am learning, and I hope that you found it helpful! We will get into the outer planets next post, those planets that deal with the collective and generations more then the personal. Specifically, Saturn and Pluto and then the New Moon coming up as well!

Thanks for putting so much work and research into this post!

haha thank you for recognizing it, its in my nature. I hope you found it informative!

This is really well written and researched. My zodiac happens to be Capricorn. Does that mean I get double influenced by this energy? 2018 is when I finally get on the homestead, so I relate a lot to charging ahead with passion for my goals. March last year is when I first involved myself with homesteading and this March is looking promising too!

Yeah you probably will feel more influenced by these aspects, because they will be passing over your sun. In the next post I am going to include some videos from my favorite astrologers and they can offer more insight. Especially Steve Judd, he does a monthly video for each sign if you wanna check him out on youtube, and he does a yearly video for each sign too!

I'll look him up. I feel astrology is like a road map, but won't account for green lights, ditches, and other factors that your choices make for you. The map isn't the territory, but it's nice to know the general direction to go in. Also thank you, and may your year be full of success and good tidings too!

yeah I feel like that for astrology too, it isnt fatalistic, we all have free will to do what we please with these energies.I enjoy how it connects me to the heavens and creates a sense of place and belonging. As above so below! As within, so without.

Also thank you! And good luck on your ventures, may this year be full of success!

very useful reading! astrology is in my sphere of interests)

I am glad you enjoyed! I post astrology stuff from time to time.

I've definitely been feeling the capricorn energy here and I really do appreciate it. It's truly helped me stay focused and on point with my long term goals.

I really enjoyed your explanations here @skycae. Especially the road ahead with Mars. It'll be quite nice to have that energy boost as soon as spring hits. I know spring time will be big for cryptocurrency as well so it'll be an interesting time for sure!

Thanks so much for sharing here @skycae!

PS: I'd love to hear your thoughts about my recent post: The 7 Liberating Life Truths I Learned While Skateboarding

thanks! I am glad you found it relatable and useful. I am also stoked for these boosts of Capricorn energy. Its time to get shit done haha. I think on my end the capricorn might help me organize my garden way better.

Ill take a look!

@skycae thankx for this sharing knowledge article.
it was our #School topic and too much interesting .

thank you for remembering me.
resteamed.

thanks for enjoying it!

welcome!!
Cheers :)

Definitely interested in what will happen during the Mars retrograde in Aquarius-Capricorn, it's the rarest part of the Mars retrograde cycle. Most of them happen in Cancer, Leo and Virgo, while very few happen in Capricorn, Aquarius and Pisces...

I didn't know that! I think Steve Judd was talking about that being a difficult time of year. Lots of review for us then I think. Time will tell ya?

You should read up on what @nickdaganbest has written about Mars and Venus retrogrades, amazing stuff. He spoke a bit about the Venus and Mars retrogrades of 2018 here:

Hmm, it seemed to swallow the text I wrote. @nickdaganbest has done a lot of work with Mars and Venus retrogrades, his work is really amazing. Here's a video of him talking with Chris Brennan about the 2018 Venus and Mars retrogrades.

sweet I will look!

I am an Indian and strongly believe in astrology. The astrology has a millennia-old tradition. While one originally observed the cloud movements during the day and the starry sky in the night to deduce changes in weather or climate, it was increasingly believed over time to recognize correlations between the position of celestial bodies and the characteristics and life histories of humans to be able to.

Probably the most important forms of astrology originated in pre-Christian times in Mesopotamia, India and China. While the astrological tradition from Mesopotamia continued in our Western astrology and the Chinese horoscope is gaining popularity in our latitudes, Indian astrology in Europe has not yet achieved the level of fame that it would actually deserve.

Indian astrology is also called "Vedic astrology" because it is based on the Vedas, ie the Hindu scriptures. In their country of origin, Indian astrology is referred to as "jyotisha," which means "light" in Sanskrit. As in Western and Chinese astrology, it is believed that the state of certain celestial bodies - at the time of the birth of a human being - determines their talents and fate. From this constellation can be created a horoscope , which gives information about the corresponding person.

As in Chinese astrology, instead of the sun, it is the moon, which has the main function here. He can stand in twelve different constellations in the course of a year, so that there are twelve zodiac signs with a duration of about one month, as in Western astrology. In the Vedic horoscope these zodiac signs are called "rashis". As in Western astrology, the transits are used to create a horoscope, while the progressions are replaced by a system called "Maha Dasas" and supplemented by an additional level in the form of "yoga".

Those who are unfamiliar with Hindu culture will find it hard to see through Vedic astrology properly.

I am indeed familiar with vedic astrology, and would love to talk more about it. I do find it difficult to understand, even though I have a giant book about it! I often find it is a bit fatalistic for my liking, in that a certain aspect is either good or bad and doesnt not allow much room for free will or choice, though I have not read enough to really confirm that that is the accepted idea in Vedic practices.

I also know that the signs are about 21 degrees, I think, behind the western signs, which I also find very interesting. I have heard that vedic astrology more accurately reflects the heavens in real time, wheras western astrology is more based on math and not totally observation.

In a few more posts about my ancient history blog I will be talking about Babylonian and Mayan astrology beginnings, which are both entirely fascinating. I do want to look more deeply into Vedic astrology and its origins in the future, so if you have information on that, please do share! Indeed, in Mesopotamia astrology began both with observing the weather patterns and the heavens, something entirely fascinating. Watching the weather for signs is a particular time of oracle in fact!

Does Vedic astrology deal more with fixed stars and uhm what I think are called palaces instead of houses as well? I am not too sure.

Did you know Donald Trump was also born on an eclipse? His destiny seems chaotic haha.

ANd yeah I often find it hard to ruse myself out of my dreamworld haha.
