I'd like to expand on my post from 4/10 about the USA Mars Transit. I am looking to find deeper meaning behind tonight's acts of aggression.
In this post: (t) = transit and (n) = natal.
On top of squaring (n) Saturn, (t) Mars is sextile to (n) Sedna. According to observations by Darkstar Astrology, Mars is the ruler of the discovery chart for Sedna. This would make Mars aspects to Sedna more powerful. The mythology of Sedna has themes tying to the sea, injured hands, commitment fears, deception in romance, betrayal by a father figure.
(t) Sedna is currently conjunct (n) Pandora, a much more familiar story which has to do with "opening a can of worms." (t) Sedna is passing through the 6th house of daily activities, health, service to others. As stated in my earlier post, (t) Mars is passing through 2nd house of possessions, securities. (n) Sedna is also being activated by (t) Neptune. If you ask me, this is a lot of unconscious "deep sea," not immediately obvious energy activated in the moment.
Looking at the centaur asteroids, (t) Pholus is conjunct (n) Ixion in 1st house (Aries house). (t) Pholus is also more loosely conjunct (t) Ixion. The mythology of Pholus reminds me of a parallel to Pandora… Pholus opens a bottle of wine and the aroma causes chaos and battles, though on a far smaller scale than the Pandora myth. Pholus ends up dying while tending to the mortally wounded by coming into contact with a poisonous arrow. Ixion, on the other hand, was a son of Ares (another Aries/Mars/War connection), and in myth killed his father-in-law. He was forgiven and redeemed by Zeus, only to later betray him and be bound to a spinning wheel of flames. Alex Miller on Day Keeper Journal has tied the current transiting Pholus-Ixion conjunctions to serial killers, and mass-murderer events. I imagine this transiting conjunction passing over the natal US Ixion could make these themes extra relevant here. This is happening in the 1st house of Actions, self, Identity, Aries (war/Mars) themes.
Also worth noting:
(t) Nessus, known as an "abuse" asteroid, is less than 1° from its natal position in the 3rd house of communication, media.
(t) Pallas, known as an asteroid of informed decision-making and strategy is on the (n) DC , entering the 7th house of open enemies and diplomacy. It is also conjunct (n) Uranus, which can represent technology, unexpected events.
What does this all mean? I'm still digesting much of it. I see a lot of Mars/Aries themes right now. Just wanted to share what I see so far.
