Total eclipse of the "Wolf Blood Supermoon" IT'STODAY, YOU CAN NOT MISS IT!

Get ready for a spectacular event. Across America, much of Europe and East Africa will be possible to observe a mega astronomical event. Between the night of January 20 and the dawn of January 21 a total eclipse of Luna will occur, which will also be a "Supermoon of wolf blood".

I will explain each phenomenon:

A total lunar eclipse takes place when the Earth passes between the Moon and the Sun generating a shadow on the Moon. The three celestial bodies must be perfectly aligned for that to happen.

There will also be a Supermoon, because the Moon will look bigger. The eclipse will coincide with the maximum approach of our satellite to Earth.

The orbit of the Moon is elliptical, and one side (apogee) is about 50,000 km farther from Earth than the other closest (perigee).

We will see a "blood" Moon, since its color will be reddish. And this is due to the fact that sunlight will not reach the Moon directly, but part of that light will be filtered by the Earth's atmosphere and the reddish and orange colors will be projected onto our satellite.

Reference is also made to the 'Wolf Blood Supermoon', a term used by native tribes in the United States, because the January Supermoon coincided with an increase in the howls of the herds of these animals in the local winter.

All the phenomenon will last a little over three hours, and unlike sun eclipses, special protective glasses will not be needed to follow the total eclipse of the Moon. You do not need a telescope for the event, but you can observe it with the naked eye, as long as the sky is clear of clouds.
