Asus ROG Zephyrus S Preview

ASUS disease Zephyrus became the first gaming laptop we reviewed that Nvidia's Max Q was designed to suit the philosophy ,In 2017. In short, the laptop enables powerful graphics processors by limiting heat production of thin-to-electric roofs and chips inside to fit Max Q design. This is the reason that laptop designers suppose their goods slim below their slim. ASUS Disease Zephyrus S, that is the pioneer, further concept and its engineers with a single slimer version of the premium MAX Q machine have increased. We have not got a chance to formally test this model yet, but Gamescom was able to get some enhanced hands with it in advance with its hands, for its public unveiling in 2018 (pre-order start August 31 , Availability is expected for September 15.) We did some impressions ahead of our announcement; Here they are

UK specifications for the Asus Zephyrus S GX531:

  • Model Name: GX531GM-ES009R
  • Weight: 2.1kg
  • GPU: NVidia GTX 1060 – 6GB
  • CPU: Intel Core i7-8750H 2.2GHz (9M Cache, up to 3.9GHz)
  • Display: 15.6’ FHD IPS-Level panel. 144Hz refresh. 3Ms response time. Slim Bezel
  • RAM: 16GB DDR4
  • Storage: 512GB SSD
  • Dimensions: 36.0cm(W) x 26.8cm(D) x 1.49 ~ 1.57cm(H)
Either way, ASUS has made Jephirus S slim more than its predecessors, and ASUS claims that it is now the world's slim gaming laptop, which is coming at its lowest point in 14.95 mm. Keeping all components cool, it was a challenge to reduce the thickness, however, ASUS had to redesign its heat pipe configuration from the inside.

Without sacrificing build quality, the weight has also been reduced to an effective 2.1 Kg. Laptop lid is now made of CNC machine aluminum, which can take time to produce, but it means that it is very thin, but it feels very strong and premium. Other materials used include zinc alloy durable and aluminum and magnesium bodies.

In terms of performance, this is 3 MMS 144 Hz AHVA panel, which is fast electric. ASUS told us to get this quick response time - when many laptops have a response time of more than 20ms - so they worked together with Auo, the panel manufacturer to get the response time to as little as possible. . In essence, it is possible thanks to overdrive - where each pixel refreshes the 'target' for the black color, and stops on the gray rather than the target of the brown. This allows the GTG response time to be as fast as possible.

Somewhere else, we all know that gaming laptops are not famous for having great battery life, so we asked ASUS whether he has improved any battery for Jefferies S. He explained that by removing G-Sync support - which requires uninterrupted use of unlimited GeForce graphics - they were able to use Nvidia Optimus technology, which automatically switches to Intel HD graphics to save power . This means that while users are using and outside laptops for less demanding tasks, integrated graphics are all working to power the screen, rather than using more demanding discrete graphics.

As you would expect that high-end technology does not come cheap in a small chassis and in the UK model of Zephyras S, we have seen that the £ 1 999 is MSRP. We do not currently have a specific release date but we are expecting this laptop to be available around October this year.

Unfortunately, this sneak peak was an engineering sample, so we were not able to do any tests. However, we look forward to finding our hands on a review sample of Zephiras S. and seeing that it feels as good as it is!
