DUDE! I'm originally from Florida. Tough break about Hurricane Irma. How long were you living in the Keys? Did you ever meet the Catman? I remember Hurridane Andrew when I was little. It swung south of us but I still saw the dark cloud looking south on I-75. I'm from Sarasota. I was in the keys 7 years ago before I moved to the west coast. Now I'm in the Ozarks.
Word! Yeah I lived in Ft Myers for about 7 years then was in the Keys for just a little over a year. My mom is from Marathon so our family has a house there. Parents were able to rebuild but I had to go. Never met the Catman but heard about him. And isn’t a SHTF plan a backup plan? Shit hitting the fan comes in many forms. And yeah a move to the Ozarks is just that, lol. I hear that is where all the retired generals and politicians are making retirement homes, lol.

Yeah I guess your right. I did the whole van thing for a little over a year. My last 6 months I was living in an RV there in Eugene. I upgraded after getting rear ended in Portland. The wreck totaled out my van. I posted that story of mine last year on Steemit.
I left Oregon two years ago. I have old roots in Arkansas. It was either move here or leave the country. I was fed up with Oregon and Washington. I had too many bad experiences there. Maybe you will have better luck than I did living there :-).
Lol, the van I bought right before I moved here, got rear ended and totaled in Portland too! Lol, small world. So yeah I got a killer deal on my current van and had money left over to outfit it a bit with some solar and other gear. I have a just under 5 year plan. My youngest is almost a 9th grader so when she is done with school I am nomading! I am originally from Alabama so that is my plan C lol.

I got a small settlement from my wreck. It was enough to buy me the RV. I got rid of the RV when I left two years ago. Nomading is kind of fun. Just as long as you aren't getting fucked with by cops.
Vanlife now! Back up from that is a backpack.... And that would suck.
But yeah next step is land that's ours. And where dog can run. Need to put a fence up so dog knows his boundaries. And Mount the solar panel.
But got Woodstove and solar system!
Fallback? It's paid for itself many times over! Allowed me to invest more work into Steemit.

Na, Van life is my backup plan. Was looking at it as a possibility after I pretty much lost everything in 2017 to Hurricane Irma. So it's just my backup, lol. I like to be prepared.
Yeah yeah I know. And good for you to have back up plan. If I didn't have all my tools and gear? Yeah I could make do. But now? I can play videogames at the fall of mankind.
